FAQ: Notaries public

Please reach us at info@arizonafiduciary.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Arizona state law defines a Notary Public as a public officer commissioned by the Secretary of State to perform notarial acts and serve as an impartial witness.

Notaries are state licensed. You must be over 18 and a resident/worker in the state, pass a background check, get a surety bond, complete training/exam, submit an application and fee to the state's licensing body, and get your official stamp/journal. Requirements vary by state.

Notaries authenticate signatures to deter fraud, prove authenticity of the signature, and ensure that a signature is made willingly.

Notary fees in Arizona are set by the state at $10 per notarization. Added services like travel and providing witnesses carry additional fees.
