A court-appointed fiduciary can serve as a professional conservator to protect the health and welfare of a loved one. It is a legal role providing management for the financial and/or personal affairs of adult individuals deemed by the court to be physically or mentally incapacitated.
A fiduciary may serve in two capacities: 1) conservator of the person, 2) conservator of the estate.
1. A conservator of the person protects someone unable to provide for their basic needs like food, shelter, and clothing.
